Things to do

The Cabins provide a perfect base to explore this amazing part of Scotland.  Climb Ben Cruachan, one of Scotland's highest mountains; take a more leisurely stroll arounnd our many forest walks; immerse yourself in the history and stories of the iconic Kilchurn Castle and St Conan's Kirk (both within walking distance); go fishing or boating on Loch Awe; Take a drive to historic Kilmartin Glen to wonder at ancient times and monuments; visit the dramatic landscape of Glencoe...........

Just a few suggestions or you could just relax and do nothing!

Places to Eat

The Cabins are adjacent to the Ben Cruachan Inn, voted the Best Gastropub in Central Scotland 2019.  A short walk to an excellent lunch or dinner.  The team are super friendly and may be able to provide you with breakfast or food to take and enjoy at your cabin.  Arrange directly with them.  www.bencruachaninn.com

 

The are other good eateries around and for seafood lovers Oban is the Seafood Capital of Scotland and only 25 minutes away by car or train.

 

Activities

There are a number of local activities  that we recommend.

Kintail Birds of Prey experience where you can get up close to a golden eagle and fly a peregrine falcon.

West Highland Wildlife Tours can take you high into the mountains to spot eagles and deer.

Cladich Highland Cattle Tours will take you to meet the famous fold of highland cattle as they graze on the hills around the loch.

Argyll Activities can take you horse riding  along the shores of Loch Fyne as well as paintballing and other fun.

Cruachan Hollow Mountain - take a tour deep  under the mountain to see how it generates power for us.

 

Walks

For those who like a challenge their are 3 spectacular Munros, including Ben Cruachan, that are within walking distance of the cabins.

There are plenty of local forest walks close by where you can wander amongst oak woodlands and see spectacular waterfalls such as Strone Hill and Glen Orchy.

Glen Coe is only a 30 minute drive away and offers ssome great walking.
